ChatLingual designs, builds, and maintains customer service and language interpretation software. Our clients use these ChatLingual Services to provide real-time language interpretation and support services to their customers across various channels, which may include email, SMS, voice, social media, and of course, chat.
In some cases, you can use ChatLingual Services without providing any information about yourself. But typically, we do collect or are provided your information by our clients to provide ChatLingual Services and information that you may request as part of that service.
At ChatLingual, we are committed to protecting your privacy and providing you with an excellent and secure experience.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”) or Switzerland, ChatLingual and its controlled subsidiaries have certified to the EU’s General Data Protection Requirements for the transfer of Personal Information from the EEA or Switzerland to the United States. Information We Collect about You
ChatLingual is committed to protecting your privacy.
You should be aware that the Data Controller may collect information about you through your use of ChatLingual Services. Some of the information the Data Controller collects about you through ChatLingual Services may personally identify you. For example:
Through ChatLingual Services, the Data Controller may ask you to provide contact information such as your username, first and last name, mailing address, email address, phone number, language preference, country, and occupation, and any additional information required to provide their service to you.
You may provide transaction information when using ChatLingual Services (e.g., purchasing or registering a product or requesting information), including your name, billing address, and payment information.
Location, IP address, domain, browser, viewing data, and other information may be collected as a part of our analysis of your use of our ChatLingual Services.
By using ChatLingual Services, you consent to our collection of this information on the Data Controller’s behalf.
Use of Your Information
ChatLingual does not sell your information to third parties.
We do not use your personal information collected as part of ChatLingual Services to market or advertise to you.
ChatLingual may use your information for the following purposes:
- Provide customer support services via chat, email, SMS, voice, social, or other channels on behalf of our client, the Data Controller
- Enhance the ChatLingual Services

Sharing of Your Information
ChatLingual has been hired by the Data Controller to provide ChatLingual Services. To that effect, ChatLingual will share your personal information with the Data Controller.
ChatLingual will not disclose your personal information outside of ChatLingual Services except in limited circumstances, such as:
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary (i) to comply with the law or comply with legal process served on us, (ii) to protect and defend the rights or property of ChatLingual or the Data Controller, or (iii) to act in exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of our users or the public. In addition, under certain circumstances, we may share with third parties to facilitate or enhance ChatLingual Services under strict written agreement that protects your information.
In the event that ChatLingual, Inc. or any portion thereof, is sold, transferred, merged, financed, or dissolved, in whole or in part, your personal information that we may possess may be sold, transferred, or otherwise disclosed as part of the transaction or proceeding.
Management and Control of Your Information
When you provide personal information through the ChatLingual Service, ChatLingual will not share that information with third parties without your permission, other than in circumstances referred to above.
You may have the right to request: (i) access to your personal data; (ii) an electronic copy of your personal data (portability); (iii) correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or inaccurate; or (iii) deletion or restriction of your personal data in certain circumstances provided by applicable law. Where you have consented to the processing of your personal data by the
Data Controller, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. If you have a request regarding your personal data, please contact the Data Controller.
Note to California Residents: California Civil Code Section 1798.83 allows California residents to request information regarding disclosure of personal information to third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. To make a request, please contact the Data Controller.
Security of Your Information
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information and we honor your choices for its intended use. We have implemented safeguards designed to protect your data from loss, misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, alteration, or destruction. For example, your personal information is stored in password-controlled servers with limited access. We make good faith efforts to provide the security measures necessary to keep the integrity and confidentiality of your information safe. However, no system can be completely secure and we do not guarantee that our security measures are impenetrable.
As a good faith effort, ChatLingual will automatically delete personal information no longer required for ChatLingual Services as outlined in our agreement with the Data Controller.
You also have a significant role in protecting your information. As an example, you should not share your password with anyone. If you believe that your password has been compromised, you should immediately change your password.
Cookies and Other Mechanisms
When using ChatLingual Services in an environment that supports cookies, if you accept cookies, ChatLingual may place a cookie on your device. We do this so that if your conversation gets disconnected, for example due to inconsistent internet connection, you will be able to resume your chat conversation. This cookie expires after 24 hours.
Transfer of Your Information Across Borders
Your information may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which ChatLingual or its vendors maintain facilities. By using ChatLingual Services, you consent to any transfer, storage, or processing of information outside of your country. Several countries, including those in the European Economic Area, have established data protection laws and regulations that place restrictions on the transfer of personal information across country borders. We are committed to complying with all of those laws and regulations. However, when you use ChatLingual Services and provide such personal information, you should do so in compliance with the applicable data protection laws and regulations in your country.
ChatLingual Services is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from nor send requests for personal data to individuals under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please discontinue use of the ChatLingual Service.
